The take down Process

This series of shots encapsulates the process of taking down a Douglas fir. The first pictures show me topping a Douglas fir after I removed all the limbs.

After topping the tree, the next step is chunking the spar down to the ground.

I had to pull out the big saw, 32" bar, for the final cuts.

Finally, you can see why this tree had to come down. A lightning strike scorched the back side of the causing a huge column of decay. If the tree had fallen on its own, my clients house would have been crushed.

Wow nice job taking down that tree, do you have more pictures of the entire take-down, it's been awhile since I've cut down a tree that large...

Thanks so much for sharing this information! I have been looking into arborist calgary and how they can help me with all of my projects! Can you tell me where I might be able to find more information like this and more details? Thanks!

This looks like quite the job. We have removed some trees in our own yard as well as some trees in some of our neighbors' yard. It was a pretty hard task. But we didn't really want to hire an arborist in Edmonton, so we lived with what we could do on our own, which actually ended up being quite a bit. Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Thanks for sharing this! I have been speaking with an Calgary arborist and he said that there takes a lot of talent for the man chopping the tree down.

I have been trying to find an arborist that would give me advice like this but all the ones I consulted just wanted money. I just want what's best for my house and tree. I hope I make the right decision overall.

I think that learning about arborists is very interesting. Their job seems very fun and adventurous! Would you happen to know of an arborist near Maryland? http://andersentree.com

My brother is getting an arborist to come out and treat the old tree on their property. It's going to be nice to see the tree thrive again. We grew up around that tree! I want to avoid doing any take down on that tree! Thiago | http://andersentree.com

I think it would be really fun to be an arborist. You get to be outside in the fresh air, but still technically have a job. I've done some tree work in my own yard, but I would need a lot more training to become an arborist. http://www.dowlingtreeservices.com.au
